Frequently asked questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you use an Amish Butter Churn?
Our butter churn was purchased from an Amish team in Indiana—but don’t worry, we didn’t have to go full horse-and-buggy. The churn is made of food-grade stainless steel and has an electric motor (we did have to get it wired when it arrived). What makes it special is that it allows for a hands-on, artisanal approach to butter-making, giving us full control of the process from start to finish. It’s slow, deliberate, and deeply satisfying.
Do you have a storefront?
Kind of! We now offer shop hours at our creamery in Ogden. But heads up—it’s a working space, not a fancy boutique. When you visit, you’re stepping right into our production environment, and we love that. It means you get to choose from whatever we’ve freshly made and have on hand. If it’s in stock, it’s yours!
Creamery Shop Hours
Monday: 9 AM – 12 PM
Tuesday: 2 PM – 6 PM
Thursday: 2 PM – 6 PM
Come say hi—but please be mindful, we’re usually mid-butter!
What farmers markets are you at?
We’re proud vendors at the SLC Downtown Farmers Market every Saturday—one of the most beloved markets in the state. You can also find our butter at the Ogden Farmers Market, thanks to our incredible partners at Wild Shaped Baker, who carry our products at their bakery stand.
Is your butter cultured?
Not yet—but stay tuned! We’re working on bringing a cultured butter to our lineup in 2026. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait.
Is your cream local?
Absolutely. We source our cream from a network of family farms in Cache Valley, Northern Utah. These partnerships allow us to work with fresh, high-quality cream that supports Utah’s agricultural economy.
Are your cows grass-fed?
Not fully. While we don’t currently have control over the feed systems of the dairies we work with, our goal is to advocate for more sustainable and grass-fed options as we grow. For now, we prioritize local sourcing and quality control in every batch.
What makes your butter better?
Three words: Fat, salt, and soul.
Our butter is high butterfat (which means creamier, richer, and better for cooking and spreading).
We use Redmond Real Salt, a mineral-rich salt mined right here in Utah.
Then we finish with hand-pressed flaked salt to create a layered flavor experience.
It’s luxurious. It’s local. It’s unforgettable.
Is your butter just for bread?
Oh, honey, no.
We make small-batch compound butters with herbs, spices, smoked salts, garlic, rosemary—you name it.
Perfect for:
Steaks and grilled meats
Pancakes and waffles
Eggs and soups
Charcuterie boards and party spreads
And yes, your favorite sourdough, too.
Our butter is made to elevate the everyday into something that tastes like a celebration.
